Arrival in the very lowlands of Parma, where the river Po gradually unveils its meandering lines, and head on to learn about one of the most artisanal and prestigious cured pork meats of the world that can only be aged in this extra-ordinarily humid microclimate: Culatello di Zibello PDO.
VIPs like Prince Charles of England and Prince Albert of Monaco use to top their cellars up with this incredible product… no doubt why! You’ll have the chance to visit the place where this prestigious product rest for years. Tasting : Culatello and other typical cold cuts from the lowlands, bread or focaccia, water. Transfer to enjoy an unforgettable lunch with farm-to-table deli foods from the Parma lowlands at a local trattoria/agriturismo in the lowlands, not far from where maestro Giuseppe Verdi was born in the 18oos.
Enjoy a pleasant guided stroll in the ancient and typically emilian small town of Busseto, where Giuseppe Verdi, one of the greatest music composers of all times, was born in the 1800s. Follow the tracks of the Maestro’s career, from his birth and his first education to the climax of his world success. You will discover how the lowlands of Parma, which he considered to be his deepest roots, contributed to forge his roughdiamond personality.
