ART EXPERIENCE: PAPIER-MÂCHÉ WORKSHOP

A two-hour workshop offering a unique experience, delving into the carnival tradition of the city through the art of papier-mâché! Papier-mâché takes center stage as the key material used in crafting carnival floats, a tradition that has reached its 137th edition in Gambettola, echoing the influence of Maestro Fellini and some of his scenic designs. Papier-mâché also reflects contemporary concerns, being a recycled material that aligns with the theme of environmental sustainability.

DESCRIPTION
The workshop commences with an introductory and demonstrative phase, showcasing the techniques of working with the material. Participants, guided by expert papier-mâché artists, become active protagonists from the very beginning as they engage in the creation of an artwork. Transitioning from the initial crafting, participants move on to the creative decoration phase of semi-finished pieces (given the drying times, semi-finished pieces will be prepared and provided by the organizers).

The workshop is meticulously designed to immerse participants in every stage of the creative process, allowing them to take home a decorated piece as a cherished memento of the experience!

THE EXPERIENCE INCLUDES

• Papier-mâché workshop (approximately 2 hours) – from the initial processing of the material to decorating a pre-prepared semi-finished piece.
• Each participant will take home the decorated object created during the workshop.
• From late January to March 31: Visit to the floats of the Gambettola Carnival parade.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES AVAILABLE:

• Guided tour of the historic Pascucci printing house in Gambettola.

• Wine tasting in a cellar in Bertinoro (approximately 30 minutes away).
