With a thousand-year history of 1200 years, the castle is one of the rare jewels remaining in the Malatesta lands.
Deeply linked to the surrounding agricultural economy, the castle takes its name from the term “granarium”, to which the suffix “iolus” was added, thus becoming “granariolus”, which means small granary.
In 2008, designer Marco Morosini undertook the ambitious restoration project of the Castle.
Guided by love for the territory and the desire to preserve this gem from artistic and historical abandonment, Morosini involved local artisans and professionals in the construction site.
This commitment has not only preserved the architectural identity of the Castle, but has also redesigned the interiors, keeping the unique history of this extraordinary place intact. The name of the Castle, in line with its thousand-year history, has remained unchanged, representing an indelible link with the past.
To date (2024) the Castle has 23 residences, of which 21 with kitchenettes, with a maximum capacity of 65 guests:
Castle 8 residences – Borgo 9 residences – Piazzetta 6 residences
